Finished modern entry door with tall glass sidelights on a light stucco home
Entry, patio & garage doors

The first thing a storm tests.

A garage door is often the largest unsupported opening on a house. Entry and patio doors carry the most glass at ground level. All three get the same documentation-first approach we bring to windows.

Entry doors

Impact-rated fiberglass and steel entry doors, plus French door configurations — tested as full assemblies, not just a heavy-looking slab. Sidelights and transoms are approved as part of the whole unit.

  • Fiberglass — resists dents & humidity
  • Steel — foam core, lower cost
  • French entry doors, multi-point locking
  • Sidelights & transoms rated as one unit

02Your largest piece of glass

Sliding & patio doors

Your lanai opening is your largest single piece of glass. Sliding glass doors give the widest clear opening; French patio doors open the full width with a more traditional look. Both are available impact-rated.

  • Multi-panel sliding configurations
  • French doors with tested locking
  • Sized for pool & lanai openings
  • HOA specs checked before you order

Why it matters

The largest opening, the least reinforcement.

A typical two-car garage door is far larger than any window or entry door on the house, and it's made of thin panel sections on rollers and tracks rather than a solid frame. Under sustained wind pressure, a standard door can bow, buckle or come off its tracks.

Once it fails, wind entering the garage pushes against the roof from underneath — a pattern documented in wind-damage investigations, not a scare tactic. That's why the door and its track hardware are rated and documented together.

Terms, straight

Wind-rated, impact-rated, and what's new.

Wind-ratedTested against wind pressure

The door and its bracing and track system have been tested to withstand a specific wind load.

Impact-ratedAdds large-missile testing

Debris-impact testing on top of the wind-load rating. Depending on your code zone you may need one, both or neither — we'll tell you plainly.

2026 updateGarage doors are covered too

Florida's new sales tax exemption on impact-resistant windows and doors, active July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029, explicitly includes garage doors.

FAQ

Doors, answered plainly.

French patio doors open onto a lanai
Do all three door types need to be impact-rated?

It depends on your specific address relative to the Wind-Borne Debris Region and, rarely, the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Most inland Orlando/Orange County addresses fall outside both today — we check yours.

Which door should I prioritize first?

It depends on your home's construction and exposure, but a garage door is frequently the largest unsupported opening. We'll walk your home and give you a prioritized recommendation rather than a blanket answer.

Sliding glass or French patio door for a large lanai?

Sliding doors typically give a wider clear opening for the same wall space; French patio doors give a traditional look and open the full width when both panels swing out. We'll walk your opening and recommend one.

Will new doors affect my HOA approval or insurance?

Many HOAs have appearance guidelines for garage and entry doors, and we can help document your project for approval. Verified wind-mitigation features can qualify for premium credits — decided by your carrier after a qualified inspection.

Can I finance doors and windows together?

Financing is available in many cases, with terms that vary by lender and credit profile, and can typically bundle door and window projects into one plan.
